A clearer beginning

You shouldn’t have to become a running expert to become a runner.

How fast should I go? When should I walk? Should I repeat this run or try a little more? Finn is designed to make the next step understandable.

The experience

  1. Start where you are.

A few short questions about recent running, time away and everyday activity help Finn choose a comfortable first session. Starting out and starting again are both expected.

  2. One clear next run.

Each session is set out by time: when to run, when to walk and how long each part lasts. During the run, one colour and one large number show where you are.

  3. How did that feel?

After a run, Finn asks how it went. The next session follows from your answer, with one plain sentence explaining why.

In the detail

The details that make it Finn.

  • Effort you can feel, not a pace to chase.

Guidance is about staying comfortable enough to talk. Walking is part of the plan, not a fallback.

  • Demo dataExample figures

    Readable mid-stride.

Each phase has its own deep colour, always paired with its name, and figures that hold steady as they count.

  • A session you can see.

Run and walk blocks are drawn to scale, so the shape of a session is clear before you start.

Why Finn exists

A note from the founder

Finn began with the questions that came up when I started running. I kept going too quickly, found the numbers unfamiliar and wasn’t sure what to do after time away. I wanted clearer guidance and a plan that responded to how I was coping.

The name comes from my dog. He’s not particularly enthusiastic about running, but he’s good company.
